Flowers is the most common decorative item that everyone uses to brighten up their place. Real or reel it gives us a sense of freshness when we look at them. When it comes to craft, flowers can be made from just out of anything. Here is an adaptation where sponge is used as base material to make the flowers. I have made these sponge flowers out of waste sponge that is used in packing materials.
Steps:
1) Cut the sponge in rectangular shape.
2) Take a wire and apply some glue in one end.3) Now start wrapping the sponge around the wire. Wrap such that each round of wrap is a bit below the upper wrap. It gives a nice appearance when done this way. 4) Apply glue and secure the sponge.
5) Use green tape to cover the wire which is the stem of the flower. Artificial leaves can be attached to the stem if required.
Make several of them to form a bouquet of Sponge flowers.
Looking at your handmade art adorning the walls of your sweet home is such a nice feeling. When I planned to create a wall hanging I wanted it to be simple yet a classy kind of one and ended up with this.
Materials Required:
The materials you would need for this art is pretty simple and easily available.
- Handmade paper (or any kind of paper you prefer to use)
- 3d Liners (I used only WHITE here)
- Mirrors or mica stone pieces (optional)
Method:
1) I chose handmade paper as it has got a nice texture and I didn't want it very plain. Cut the sheet into a square shape.
2) Draw or trace the design you have chosen and then draw using the 3d liner. As I liked to put mehndi a lot, the 3d liners were such a treat to me while experimenting with the crafts. It gives you a nice 3d effect embossed look.I have used mirror and mica pieces for decoration.
3) Frame it up and hang it on your wall to earn all the praises:)
Tanjore art(painting) is widely admired for its traditional and rich look. It involves a series of steps and can be done only with great patience and a love for the art. As I was a little hesitant to try this great art, I wanted to first get my hands on like a trial. So I started with my comfort zone, the OHP sheet. The OHP sheet is an easy replacement for glass. Just start off as you do with glass painting. I choose my fav deity, Venkateshwara. I was pretty satisfied with the way it turned out to be:)
